All tips are made of high strength alloy steel and are heat-treated for added durability.  Tapered edges make penetration and withdrawal easier.

The ball nose tip has a slightly rounded nose for delicate probing operations such as: fiber optics, gas transmission lines, water lines, and other utilities.

The tips are available in three sizes: 3/8", 7/16", and 1/2".  The sizes describe the size of the rod that the tip was designed for. The 3/8" tip works with both the 3/8" round rod and the 3/8" hex rod.

The actual size of the tips is a little larger than the shaft.  This allows the tip to create a clearance hole so the rod will not drag against the ground.

How It Works

The Chisel Popper is designed to be the first step in removing a stubborn cover.

  1. Insert the chisel end between the cover and frame.
  2. Pry to break the seal and create an opening.
  3. Insert a manhole hook or lifting hook.
  4. Safely lift and remove the cover.
