Sliding Ground Rod

The integrated Sliding Ground Rod from T&T Tools simplifies installing a ground rod into difficult soils. It is self-contained, easy to use, carry, and store. The handle slides up and down on the single-piece metal shaft, driving it into or out of the ground. Electronic locating equipment can connect to the shaft, allowing it to function as a grounding device for electrical grounding applications.

The sliding handle has been specifically designed to reduce the risk of injury by minimizing the number of pinch points. All internal pieces of the head assembly are manufactured from high-strength, impact-resistant tool steel. This steel is engineered to resist bending or distortion, ensuring a long-lasting ground rod driver tool.

The Sliding Ground Rod can be ordered powder coated or plastisol dipped for comfort during repeated use, and the urethane washer inside the head reduces friction and wear. Its slide-type driver design uses hammer action to deliver powerful energy directly into the rod for efficient soil penetration.

Important Safety Notice: This tool is NOT INSULATED and does not provide protection against electrical shock. Always follow proper safety procedures and use appropriate personal protective equipment when working near electrical systems.

Sliding Ground Rod Driver Tool: Features & Benefits

  • Integrated Slide-Hammer Design: The slide-action driver delivers powerful downward force with every stroke — no external hammers or mallets needed.
  • Professional-Grade Durability: Built from impact-resistant alloy steel, the Sliding Ground Rod tool is designed to handle repeated use without bending or distortion.
  • Precision-Fit Shaft & Head Assembly: Each ground rod driver tool is precision-machined to ensure smooth sliding action and efficient energy transfer.
  • Safety-Driven Engineering: The sliding head minimizes pinch points and keeps hands clear during use.

Sliding Ground Rod Applications & Best Uses

Frequently Asked Questions
The Sliding Ground Rod is a temporary ground rod driver tool designed to drive rods into soil for electrical grounding or testing. Its slide-hammer design eliminates the need for external striking tools.
The integrated slide-hammer mechanism transfers energy directly into the rod, allowing smoother, faster penetration with less vibration or recoil compared to using a sledgehammer.
No — this is a metal ground rod tool designed for mechanical performance. For insulated equipment, check out the Mighty Probe.
The Hammer Probe is designed for probing soil and locating objects underground, while the Sliding Ground Rod focuses on driving through tough grounds to act as a temporary grounding rod for electrical and structural applications.
No. This is one complete part that is welded together to provide maximum durability and driving force.
Keep the sliding shaft clean for optimal movement. Store in a dry place.
