Replacement & Extension Probe Rods
Extend the reach of your Probe or replace worn or damaged rods with genuine high-strength alloy steel replacement and extension rods. These rods are compatible with select Probe models, allowing you to customize the length and stiffness of your probe for different soil conditions and applications.
Available Rod Styles
Choose from four rod styles:
- 3/8" Round
- 3/8" Hex
- 7/16" Hex
- 1/2" Round
All rods are manufactured from high-strength alloy steel for durability and long service life.
Rod Stiffness Comparison
Using the 3/8" Round rod as the baseline:
- 3/8" Hex – approximately 20% stiffer
- 7/16" Hex – approximately 2× stiffer
- 1/2" Round – approximately 3× stiffer
Greater stiffness can improve control in harder soils, while smaller rods offer increased flexibility.
Important
As rod diameter and tip size increase (from 3/8" to 7/16" and larger), additional force is required to insert the probe into the ground. Consider your typical soil conditions when selecting a rod size.
